Assignment 6: Photo analysis

Theme: Analysing a picture (group assignment - 2 students per group)

Select any image from one of the following genres of photograph from recent publication (news paper, magazine, online)

  • Photojournalism
  • Social documentary
  • Commercial photography

Analyse the picture: List how selected photograph might be read by target audience (please follow below link for analysis outline).Morris framework is a good starting point for analysing photographs.

What to expect:
Formal elements of photograph (syntactic) how they are working.
Examples of other photos which support your analysis.

Presentation: Prepare a 7 minutes presentation briefly explaining rational behind your analysis
