Assignment 4: The day after- Joiner
Theme:
Photomontage in artist David Hockney’s style which he called “joiner”.

What is photomontage
Photomontage is the process (and result) of making a composite photograph by cutting and joining a number of other photographs.
Important:
- Explore different approches to creating a joiner which captures your mind's eye view.
- Don't be afraid to change your concept mid way.
- Keep shooting. Memory is free.
- Try to capture what would other wise go unseen.
Objective
- Objective is to establish digital darkroom workflow .
- Develop image processing skills.
- This assignment is designed to help you explore most of the important issues in digital image processing and printing.
Note:
- This assignment will, if done properly, stretch present digital technology to its limit. Most important for the success of this assignment is pre-visualisation.
- Think before you start shooting. First do a trial shoot and composite before you embark on 2000 photo montage.
Presentation: Print size equal to or more than 16” on longer side. Format - at your discretion.
What i would like to see in your prints: Contrast (clean whites and colours), depth (should create an illusion of 3d space), presence (should draw viewer into picture space).
